Exercise Equipment Review

The Bun and Thigh Rocker from Body by Jake

Bun and Thigh Rocker

Why does the Bun and Thigh Rocker grab so many people's attention? Because just like ab machines the name promises to target the areas we dislike most about ourselves...

Before we examine this product, here's a brief explanation of a theory called spot reduction and why it's important if you're thinking of buying one...

Spot reduction states that if you exercise a particular muscles group (like your buns) you will burn fat from that area. Not true. Any health and fitness expert will tell you that spot reduction has been shown to be false. To lose excess fat, wherever it may be stored on your body, requires you to burn more calories than you consume. Do that and your body will take the fat from wherever it put it last.

So used consistently this will will tone and strengthen the muscles in your buns and thighs. But if they are still hidden under a layer of fat you won't see much difference. Combine the Bun and Thigh Rocker with some aerobic exercise and a sensible diet and you're on to a winner!

As a piece of exercise equipment how does the Bun and Thigh Rocker shape up?

One of the most important features to look for in a piece of exercise equipment is whether the resistance can be adjusted. Most as seen on TV fitness products are a "one fits all" design. Thankfully the it can be adjusted to make it more or less difficult with 8 different resistance levels.

Probably the biggest criticism of this product is the price. It's an investment that takes careful consideration. Although it is well made (supported by the 1 year warranty) it's not a total solution i.e. it won't work your upper body...

At present the Bun and Thigh Rocker package includes some useful extras -- a cardio kit (2 lightweight Cardio Bands & Workout Guide), a fat burning video, several exercise programs, a meal planner and 20 recipe cards.

To sum up the Bun and Thigh Rocker is something you are likely to persist with because it's so comfortable and fun to use... if you're not put off by the price tag. I have reviewed other products of this nature here in the as seen on TV section.
