The Top Five Reviews

In order for a piece of equipment to make it to the top five list it needs quality, value for the money spent, and ability to achieve exactly what you bought the equipment to do. These are the primary factors that will get any equipment on this list.

While most pieces of home exercise equipment retire under the bed to gather dust, a select few continue to keep their owners sweating.

1. Smooth 7.1HR Folding Treadmill
This has quickly become a favorite with Smooth's raving fan customers. In our opinion, you simply will not find a better value for money folding treadmill in the 'affordable' price bracket. The more you research treadmills the more apparent it becomes that Smooth really has over-delivered on this piece of equipment.

2. Bandflex
One of the best value for money home gyms on the market. Offers far more resistance than traditional home gyms priced similarly and is far more affordable than the Bowflex or Weider Crossbow.

3. A1 Polar Heart Rate Monitor
Measures your heart rate only, but will do it better than any other for the price. HR monitors can be very temperamental but Polar lead the industry and their products are as robust as they come.

4. Total Gym 1000
Used in rehab and exercise facilities around the world. It's perfect for anyone looking to tone and strengthen their physique. Other more expensive models offer little extra to justify the large increase in price. Stick to the very reasonably priced 1000 model.

5. Gazelle Freestyle
Makes the list based on independent customer reviews which don't come more unanimous. Infomercial products can be lacking in quality and gimmicky. The Gazelle Freestyle, like the Total Gym is an exception to the rule.
